Anacortes Swim Remains Undefeated, Clinches Northwest Conference Title
The Anacortes High School girls swim and dive team capped off their dual meet season in style with a commanding 120–49 victory over Mount Vernon, securing an undefeated record and the Northwest Conference Championship. The Seahawks showed depth and consistency across all events, highlighting both veteran leadership and emerging talent.
The meet opened with a strong start in the 200 Medley Relay, where the A relay of Chloe Hernandez, Claiborne O’Donnell, Esther Stephens, and Amelia Myers touched first in 2:09.54, earning key early points. Anacortes also picked up additional points with solid swims from their B and C relays.
Senior Alli Claridge led the way individually with standout wins in both the 200 Freestyle (2:10.90) and 100 Freestyle (59.91), both district-qualifying swims. Teammates Cora Myers (2:16.66) and Abby Ladd (2:27.85) swept the top three spots in the 200 Free, while Chloe Hernandez dominated the 200 IM (2:29.39) and 100 Backstroke (1:06.45), each comfortably under district time standards.
Claiborne O’Donnell continued her strong season with wins in the 50 Freestyle (29.31) and 100 Breaststroke (1:23.57), while Felix Duez added a key second-place finish in the 100 Butterfly (1:18.07) and helped power the relays.
The Seahawks’ distance crew also delivered, with Sofia Martinez and Tierney Wells going 1–2 in the 500 Freestyle, both turning in season-best times.
Anacortes sealed the meet — and the perfect season — with a decisive victory in the 400 Freestyle Relay, as Myers, Hernandez, Duez, and Claridge combined for a 4:12.43 finish, outpacing Mount Vernon by over 25 seconds.
With this win, Anacortes finishes the regular season undefeated in dual meets and officially claims the Northwest Conference Championship. The Seahawks now turn their focus toward postseason competition, with several swimmers already qualified for Districts and State.
